Methodology
We evaluate products by use case, total setup cost, software/workflow friction, accessories, support, safety requirements, upgrade path, and buyer fit.
If a recommendation is based on published specs and buyer workflow rather than direct testing, we say so clearly.
Editorial methodology
We evaluate topics around project fit, material compatibility, workspace requirements, software workflow, accessory cost, safety needs, documentation, support signals, and realistic beginner friction. When a page is based on research rather than direct testing, the copy should not imply direct testing.
For desktop fabrication products, we pay special attention to total setup cost: consumables, dust or ventilation control, PPE, spares, workholding, drying, measurement, and software. These factors often determine whether a machine is useful in a real home shop.
